Dwarf Knights of the Great Bear - TAG Kickstarter

Some of you may remember the greens I posted almost a year ago for the Dwarf footknights of the order of the Great Bear. It seems like good timing that, shortly after I posted the greens for their human counterparts, I can now announce that the dwarf footknights will join the rest of my former dwarf range at The Assault Group, who are running a 4 day long kickstarter to release them right now:

Svennn's Dwarf Warband

For those who haven't seen them on the LAF, I wanted to share Svennn's fantastic brushwork on this small dwarf warband, combining various models from throughout the range. These were done by him as a commission and I believe intended to form a Mordheim warband, together with some he did earlier. Those checks and stripes alone are worth taking some time to look at them.

Painted Dwarfs From All Over the Web...

No new miniatures update in while, but don't be worried, there's a lot of stuff in the pipeline, even though it is unlikely any of it will be released before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, take a look at some other people's brushwork on the dwarfs. The occasional Marauder dwarf snuck into the pictures as well. If you can spot them all you get a cookie (from the tin in the cupboard in your home).

First off, here are Darkblade's fantastic dwarf pikes. He's made excellent use of the sallet helmet variants for a striking unit of hard steel.

Then there's Blue's fantastic Zweihänder unit (spot the intruder), later joined by the new Zweihänder sergeant:

And last but not least, certainly not LEAST, this massive horde painted by Alain Pigeaux. I could only show a small selection here, but he has lots more pictures of the whole force for you to check out!

Dwarfs with Greatswords - Part 1

At long last I managed to slap some paint on some of the first mastercastings of the dwarf zweihänders and I may be biased, but I think they look bloody fantastic. It's almost a shame that some of the wonderful detail is hidden on their backs as it really helps to set them apart from the rank and file. These are clearly better paid soldiers, with access to the very best fineries and equipment.

I went for a more uniformed look to these as they are professional elite soldiers and may be subject to more strict uniform regulations. There is of course room for individuality even within the most strict corset (not that they're wearing those underneath that armour) (I hope). I think the bright colours I use throughout the army work especially well on these figures.
