Dwarf Crossbows - Part 8

Dwarf with crossbow. I didn't think the original figure really fit the theme (looked like a smallfooted dwarf in a dress really). So I added landsknecht shoes, puffy sleeves and a jacket.

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 7

2 more converted dwarves with crossbows. The first one is a major conversion on one of the classic citadel drunken dwarves. He was dressed in medieval HYW style clothes, so I sculpted on the puffy sleeves and the yellow overcoat and resculpted the belt (minus the buckle which is the original one).

The second one is only a minor conversion: the addition of the red tied ribbon on his shoulder and the sleeve on the other arm was made a bit wider, so he fits in a bit better with the empire theme (the shoes were perfect already):

A group shot of the crossbow regiment so far (still a couple more figures to add to it):

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 6

Two more Marauder crossbow dwarves, both convert to some extent. The first one got a greenstuff feather and some puff and slash added to make him a bit more interesting/renaissance-ish. This one had the yellow vest and the blue puffy sleeves added with greenstuff.

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 5

Beginning to resemble a proper unit. Two more Marauder dwarfs. One conversion of a pikedwarf and one musician.

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 4

Got time to finish 4 more marauder dwarf crossbowmen. The one to the left is a conversion of the chainmail one (comparison pictures below). The two in the middle are conversions of dwarf spearmen (some recasts I got off ebay, not originals) with plastic crossbows. The one to the right is the third variant of the the ones with separate plug-in hands.

The conversion next to the original. He got greenstuff shoes, puffy sleeves and a feather with gem broche for his hat, as well as a new moustache to set him apart from the original. I'm quite happy with this one, he looks different enough from the original and of the two I think I like my converted one best.

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 3

4 more renaissance-themed dwarfs. The one with the eyepatch and pegleg is actually an old citadel Bugman's rangers champion, but he had the right look, so he joined this unit. The two in the middle came with separate plug-in hands (I also have handguns and spears for these guys). The one with the helmet and breastplate is a conversion of one of the speardwarves (not an original, but a recast I got (unknowingly) on ebay) with a plastic crossbow. A group shot with the others:

Dwarf Crossbows - Part 2

4 more marauder empire-themed dwarfs. Not as happy with these as with the other ones (yellow highlighs too harsh for one), but they'll do fine.
