Dwarf Knights of the Great Bear on Foot - Greens

It's been a while since there's been another update on the dwarfs, but John just sent me the final pictures for the next two sets: Dismounted Dwarf Knights of the Great Bear: 8 models including full command.

First, the Captain and Sergeant for the unit. I included the center pictures because they give a frontal look at the models, but note that the hammers on those were still WIP and final look is as shown on the left side of the image:

Standard Bearer and musician:

4 full plated, fur cape wearing, hammerwielding helpings of dwarven wrath:

A closer look at the individual models:

I think John did a good job on these and they are the best of all the dwarven footknights we had done. They wouldn't look too out of place with the Ewal Dvergar either.

Dwarf Footknight Greens

It's been a while without a dwarf update. While the Landgriffon's variants are being finished, here are some greens for the upcoming dwarf footknights:

- Set 1: 4 bodies + 4 weapon hand options;

- Set 2: 4 bodies + 4 weapon arm options;

Footknight champion figure: body + 3 weapon options

Champion with hammer and sword options:

Same champion with the third weapon option; the Dwarf Ancestor Powerfist of Doom

Dwarf footknight musician:

A standardbearer, with interchangeable standard tops to reflect the different knightly orders will also be added.

Dwarf Character Greens: Inventors and War Engineers

John sculpted three brilliant dwarf inventors (or war engineers if you like) for me, all armed with an advanced weapon of their creation.

The first of these is armed with a long-distance sniper handgun, which comes with two alternative support options, a simple stand or a beardling (or halfling) pageboy. I just love all the intricate detail on this one and it's one of John's best figures to date in my opinion:

The second of the upcoming dwarf inventors is armed with a hackbut/swivelgun that will wreak havoc on the battlefield. Note the gorgeous detail on the gun barrel and the dwarf's helmet:

The third, and for now last, dwarf inventor is called "the bomber". The figure comes with two alternate bomb holding hands, "regular" and "holy":

Dwarf Artillery Crew Greens

More dwarf goodness from John. Upcoming artillery crew set, 5 multipart figures, spare bits. Three of these are interchangeable with parts from other sets (infantry), which means you should be able to use the artillery crew hands/arms with bodies from infantry sets and vice-versa, opening up a lot more possibilities for unique models than just the contents of the set itself!

Artillery crew commander, with two arm options and separate head, compatible with bodies and weapons from infantry set 2 (and heads from pretty much any set):

Artillery crewman with bucket, separate head (compatible with heads from pretty much any set):

Artillery crewman with ramrod or ladle, separate head, compatible with bodies and weapons from infantry set 1 (and heads from pretty much any set):

Artillery crewman "loader", singlepart (but with a cool pirate bandana!):

Bald artillery crewman with ramrod or ladle 2, compatible with bodies and weapons from infantry sets 3 & 4:

Dwarf Knightly Orders - Part 2

Now I could have left it at the vanilla knights and that would have been fine, but I had a hankering for creating a couple variant knightly orders, with their own heraldry and alternate weapon options. So the next release will be these 3 additional knightly orders, one of which will be an all new kit and two will be upgrades to be combined with the existing bodies.

I should apologise for the bad picture quality. I didn't have my camera, light was bad and I only had a short time before posting them to the mouldmaker for mastermoulding.

You can see most of it in this picture, except for one separate visor, a separate beard and an alternate pose for the hammer and morning star arm options.

1) The Order of the Great Bear, aka the Templar Knights of Ursa Major.

The set includes 4 templar bodies, armed with big hammers and wearing large bear pelts, a champion of the Order, a musician and a standard arm that fits on the trooper bodies. The bodies are also compatible with the lances from the generic knights.

Knights of the Great Bear. Each knight templar wears a heavy bear pelt and a helmet with bear heraldry:

Order of the Great Bear musician.

An extreme close-up at the standard top. Keep in mind this view is magnified many times and it's quite small in real life:

2) The Order of the White Boar

This one's a secular knightly order. The set contains 5 boar themed heads, including a new visor for the open helmet, morningstar weapon upgrades and 4 new shields. There are already bits to make the command for this order included in the generic command set, so none were required now.

3) The Order of the Raven, Templar Knights of the God of Death

This set contains 6 Raven/skull themed helmets, including a skullfaced visor for the open helmet, scythe arm upgrades, 4 themed shields, a standard for the standardbearer and new helmet tops for the champion and musician heads in the generic command set.

My favourite head from this lot, a tribute to the old Battlemasters lord figures (MB):

The helmets (third one comes with a separate beard, last one comes with a separate helmet top for casting):

These helmet tops are alternatives for the musician and champion head in the generic command set. The extra shield is for the champion:

In case you need a reminder, these are the generic knights that these bits will go with:
