Human Footknight Greens 2 - Twohanded swords

Another update, this time for the second set of generic renaissance footknights by Mick Darpa: knights with twohanded swords. These will get some more variants after moulding to make up a second set with different heads.

Human Footknight Greens 1

The final three variants of the generic footknights by Mick Darpa to make up the first set of five. The weapon hands are separate and interchangeable (sword, axe, hammer and morningstar options).

All five variants:

Seal Elf Conversion bits greens

Now in the previous post I've shown some images of Sea Elf conversion bits, mixed with Perry Miniatures and GW bits, but it occurred to me I actually failed to show the conversion bits I was talking about. They were posted to the Facebook page, but not here.

To elaborate a little, these are based on salvaged components from the various sea elf greens and while their parts may not be designed to be interchangeable, they work pretty well and most of them don't even require any filling or filing. So the idea is to make these available as conversion sets, either to be combined into new unique sea elf figures or mixed with third party components.

The weapons will be the same hands with spears, halberds or axes from the sea elf core infantry sets.

There will be 25 heads (20 male, 5 female) which will consist of the ones shown below and the 6 bald heads:

There are 10 bodies (8 male, 2 female), 2 of which are kneeling :

For the time being, I have these sets of arms: 6 different, with the fifer arms as a bonus. The weapons will be the same hands with spears, halberds or axes from the sea elf core infantry sets.

All of the above have been cast in metal and I only need to find the time to clean some castings to send of for productionmoulding.

This may or may not get expanded with the original dolly components made for this range:

Sea Elf Conversion Bits and Landgriffon size comparison

By popular demand, some size comparisons of the upcoming Sea Elf conversion parts and a look at the relative size of the landgriffons to a humansized rider.

First off, some examples of the Sea Elf conversion bits used with some Perry Miniatures plastic arms (and one head). As you can see, the Elf bodies and Perry bits look like a marriage made in heaven and should allow for some good customisation opportunities.

I don't have access to my current edition GW plastics at the moment (stored away since the move), but I did have these 6th edition state trooper metal command bits available (head and arms) and I think they work pretty well.

Finally, a very limited couple shots of the elf bits used with each other (heads, bodies and arms separate). The fifer arms work best on the female torso, as they were designed for it, but they can be made to work with most of the others with a little extra TLC.

Moving onto big beasties, here are a few shots of the landgriffons with an old GW knight panther. As you can see, the size in itself works well enough, but the crouched pose of the feline paws make it look a bit low to the ground compared to a warhorse.

Human Footknights WIP

Mick Darpa is currently working on the first two sets of human footknights. It's going to be a while yet before all of them are done, but I couldn't resist showing of these first two complete figures:

The weapons are separate to allow for some more variation in weapons. These will all have shields.

Pumpkinheaded Childcatcher green

Some say it's just a mask, but others claim his head was taken on All Hallow's Eve and a pumpkin was all he had to replace it with. Whatever may be the truth, sightings of the pumpkinman tend to coincide with mysterious disappearances of small children and the occasional halfling. Sculpted by George Fairlamb.

Painted WK Zombies from the internet

While a recent move has left me with hobby stuff formally locked away in closed, stacked boxes in the shed and therefore no chance to paint any of the new releases, some painted zombies have started to appear on the web, which I felt deserved to be shared here:

First of all, there are Blue-in-VT's zombie halfling shamblers:

The "Split" Personality

The Nibbler

The Pointer

Shifty

The "Thriller"

Check out his excellent blog, "Blue's Marauding Miniatures" for a lot more eyecandy: http://bluesmarauders.blogspot.com/

Secondly, Whiskey Priest painted this excellent set of human zombies for his "Elizabethan Gothic" project. Check out his inspiring project here: Elizabethan Gothic:
