Halfling Rooster Rider Chickstarter!

If, like me, you've been waiting (im)patiently for the halfling rooster riders to be released, the wait is over and my friends at The Assault Group are launching them (as well as the back catalog of halflings if all goes well) through Kickstarter now:

Svennn's Dwarf Warband

For those who haven't seen them on the LAF, I wanted to share Svennn's fantastic brushwork on this small dwarf warband, combining various models from throughout the range. These were done by him as a commission and I believe intended to form a Mordheim warband, together with some he did earlier. Those checks and stripes alone are worth taking some time to look at them.

The knight, just look at that lance and barding!

Painted Dwarf Knights And Assembled Metals

Master Painter Jaeckel put his brushes to this Dwarf Knight command group and they look amazing. I'll let you admire the pictures, that speak for themselves, but would just like to add that you should go check out his blog Jaeckel Alone, for more painted dwarf magic!

Dwarf Light Lancers - Part 2

The second of the Light Lances. I decided to try out something else for the armour and leave it black, with gold trim. I may do this for the whole unit, to set them further apart from the pistoleers and the greys. Again, I used one of the separate feathers on the helmet.

The two lancers  so far. I may redo the first one's armour in black too.

Imperial Dwarf Greys - Part 2

Second figure for the Imperial Dwarf Greys. I used one of the separate feathers that come with the sets on this one. A quick hole drilled in the back of the helmet, feather inserted and voila.

Imperial Dwarf Greys - Part 1

First of a unit of "Imperial Dwarf Greys". Where most other regiments rely on pistols or lances to soften up the enemy, the Greys charge directly in to battle with nothing but their swords, yelling out their defiance. They are famous for only riding grey ponies, making them instantly recognisable on the field of war.

Painted Ponyriders - Light Lancers

First of the Imperial Dwarf Light Lancers. Sort of botched up whatever is visible of the face (oops). This regiment will have dark brown ponies to set them apart from the pistoliers and the greys.

While John is busy expanding the range of ponies and riders, I fixed up a set of slightly flawed mastercastings and applied some paint to them. The bases are standard plastic cavalry bases (50mmx25mm). I think they ended up looking pretty sharp.
